From Rope Swing Cities:
"Ten & Tracer was the first artist to appear on Rope Swing Cities, and he returns with a new EP, Vinculum, which shows him taking yet another interesting turn in his sound, perhaps even more drastic than the preceding release, In Such A Fix To Be So Fertile. Jonathan Canupp (Ten & Tracer) has been a good friend of mine for many years now, and has always proven to be a sincere and introspective person. With Vinculum, those traits are exhibited more than ever before.
The nine tracks composing this release are all made up of sounds that began organically, from hand drums, to violins, and snapping twigs and then processed into the songs we have presented here.
This originating point for all of the source material in the EP gives it an immense warmth that is emotional and captivating. Hypnotic drum patterns give way to haunting flutes and touching plucks of the violin. Deep, spacious washes of sound flow around as clicks and snippets of field recordings bob languidly on the surface. Vinculum is a release that compels the listener to sit and enjoy in its entirety, time and again, so that the fullness and range of the music can be fully appreciated. "...more
